Ambient "Sound Fish" Hydrophone ASF-1 MKII

The ASF-1 MKII is completely designed and manufactured by Ambient Recording in response to all requests for an affordable, yet professional hydrophone. The goal was nothing less than to create a very natural sounding, low noise underwater microphone. Well, it took us nearly 3 years but finally we did it.

With the development of the Ambient “Sound Fish” we focused on high audio quality with best handling. Therefore we designed a linear, low distortion microphone preamp offering a frequency response from 7 Hz- 100 kHz.

Waterproof up to 100m

Following our idea to create an underwater microphone for professional sound recordists, we worked hard to build a hydrophone which can be fed directly from standard 48V Phantom power. Thus, this microphone works right out of the box with all your existing audio gear without additional adaptors. The ASF-1 MKII is machined out of high quality aluminium bronze and can easily withstand the water pressure of 100m depth.

Additionally, the used materials (PUR sensor encapsulation, polyurethane cable) stand out for their long term seawater resistance. Within the purchased package we include a 10 meter underwater cable with our developed and sealed AHS underwater connector. Different cable lengths are available on request.

Hire

Hire Equipment

We have an extensive inventory of audio equipment for hire with competitive rates ready at a moment's notice. We pay the most meticulous attention to detail in our hire prep so you can travel to shoots with the peace of mind that you have everything you need.

Weekly Rental

For weekly rental, you can pick up your gear the day before your production shoot after 3:00pm, and return by 10:00am after your shoot day. In the case of 7 day rental, you will only be charged for 4 billing days.

Shipping

If shipping is required, we require a two day minimum hire period, with a travel day inbetween.

Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled for free up to 24 hours before pick up date, any notice within 24 hours of the pick up date will be charged a prep fee of 25% of the total amount.

Insurance

Customers will provide a certificate of insurance listing Everything Audio as "loss payee" and "additional insured".
